MILAN — Luxury men’s wear label, Wintle on Friday named Diane Metcalfe its new CEO, effective Nov. 1. The appointment corresponds to the label’s desire to grow internationally and build its retail network.

Metcalfe joins following stints in consultancy for marketing companies in Sydney and Beijing. She has also just completed her MBA in International Luxury Brand Management at the prestigious ESSEC Business School in Paris where she graduated at the top of the class.

Prior to that, Metcalfe was board director, director of client service and director of human resources at Clemenger BBDO in Melbourne, one of Australia’s leading marketing and communication’s groups.

“There is no question in my mind that the brand has a major opportunity to carve out an important position in the international luxury menswear market,” Metcalfe said. This includes rolling out the label’s own stores.

“[Metcalfe] has both drive and determination, and the leadership and brand development skills we need as the label continues its global expansion and enters a new phase of developing its own signature stores,” said Jsen Wintle who founded his eponymous brand in 2005. Known for his flare for fine tailoring, Wintle will present his winter ’09/’10 collection in Paris in January.
