NEW YORK — With the opening of a Decades pop-up shop at Ports 1961’s Meatpacking District store here, the two companies are working on a serious twofer.
For starters, they aim to tap into the buzz around two museum exhibitions about Azzedine Alaïa and Jean Paul Gaultier. Decades’ Cameron Silver has culled vintage pieces from both designers for the Ports 1961’s outpost that will bow Oct. 20 and 21. Vinyl postings will go up in Ports’ Ninth Street store this week to pique Ports’ shoppers curiosity and to attract Decades’ fans.
