MILAN — Valentino and its men’s wear designer Ferruccio Pozzoni have agreed to part ways after only two seasons. Starting with the spring 2010 collection, creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli will add men’s wear to their duties to better deliver a cohesive vision for the fashion house. The two were named creative directors for women’s ready-to-wear, couture and accessories in October following the exit of Alessandra Facchinetti. Pozzoni, who cut his teeth at Prada and Brioni, was hired in September 2007 to add a modern touch to Valentino’s small men’s wear business. The aim was to grow the segment, which a year ago accounted for eight percent of sales. For the upcoming fall collection, Valentino will bypass its traditional runway show in favor of a presentation in Milan.
