PARIS — Retail-to-luxury group PPR said Monday it has nominated three new directors — all of them women — to its board for four-year terms.

The new directors are Laurence Boone, chief economist at Barclays Capital; Yseulys Costes, chairman and chief executive officer of advertising, marketing and research firm 1000mercis.com, and Caroline Puel, chief journalist for Le Point in Northeast Asia.

PPR chairman and ceo François-Henri Pinault said the three women bring experience and expertise in areas which are “key drivers” for PPR: the global economy, e-commerce and Asia, particularly China.

He noted the nominations also “highlight PPR’s continuing goal to diversify its board and meet the objective of promoting men-women parity.”

Subject to approval at its general shareholders’ meeting on May 19, PPR’s board will have 14 members — 10 men and four women — of whom eight are independent.
