Accessories that glitter, sparkle and exude glamour are drawing customers to stores this holiday season. Here, retailers reveal what's selling.
Henri Bendel Hot ticket items: Ted Rossi mirrored leather Swarovski crystal cuff and Ike Dynamic Rubber Watch Price: $75 to $175 Who's buying them and for whom? "People are buying them for their daughters and sons, others for themselves," Ann Watson, vice president and fashion director of Henri Bendel, said of the watch. "That's when you know you found a bestseller. It has such a broad audience." The appeal: "It's timeless, not trendy," said Watson of the cuffs. "It's accessible luxury with a bit of color and shine, and integrates into another person's wardrobe, so it's a safe buy. A little sliver of a metallic cuff can go from day to night so they wardrobe well."
Bergdorf Goodman Hot ticket item: Verdura Maltese Cross Cuff Price: $23,500 Who's buying it and for whom? "The husband is buying it for the wife and lots of couples are shopping for it together," said Ed Burstell, senior vice president and general merchandise manager of jewelry and accessories at Bergdorf Goodman. The appeal: "Our clients continue to appreciate Verdura's quality, history, exclusivity and amazingly chic look," Burstell said.
Macy's Hot ticket item: Vince Camuto Maran peep-toe bootie Price: $130 Who's buying it and for whom?: "People are buying them for themselves and then one for a friend," said Russell Orlando, vice president and fashion director, accessories. "They buy it and then say, 'Wow, I have to get this for her, she'll love it.'" The appeal: "All of our booties are doing well," Orlando said. "They are high fashion and great in the snow."
MaxandChloe.com Hot ticket item: Fine jewelry by Sydney Evan, M2Design by Mary Margrill and Foley + Corinna's city tote. Price: Jewelry at less than $1,000 is selling best; Foley tote, $420. Who's buying it and for whom? "Women are buying for themselves and men are buying as gifts," said Jamie Rubin, co-owner and buyer for MaxandChloe. The appeal: "Fine jewelry has picked up for us," said Rubin. "People want to get more value for their money."Net-a-Porter.com Hot ticket items: Christian Lacroix exclusive diamanté encrusted bracelet and Christian Louboutin Bling Bling platforms. Price: $1,600 and $1,375. Who's buying them and for whom? Men buying for women using Santa's Helper, the site's virtual adviser that allows women to deliver a personalized message about what they would like to receive via a video link. The appeal: "This stunning bracelet from Christian Lacroix will never date and adds the finishing touch to any outfit, be it eveningwear or a simple T-shirt and jeans," said Holli Rogers, head of retail for Net-a-Porter.com, who added that the Louboutins are "the ultimate party shoes and something to treasure for seasons to come."
Portero.com Hot ticket items: Hermès Birkin bag, Chanel classic flap bag 2.55, Van Cleef & Arpels rings, Tiffany cocktail rings, jewelry from Gurhan and Anthony Nak and watches from Breitling and Cartier Price: $1,000 and up. (Portero is a luxury auction Web site for pre-owned product) Who's buying them and for whom? Husbands for wives. The appeal: "These items have provenance and a soul," said Stephanie Phair, vice president of merchandising for Portero.
Saks Fifth Avenue Hot ticket items: Prada wristlet, YSL Belle du Jour clutch and Cartier Ballon Bleu watch with diamond bezel Price: $310, $395 and $34,400 Who's buying them and for whom? Men for women. The appeal: "It's timeless," said Elizabeth Kanfer, fashion market director of Saks. "There's a waiting list for this watch in all categories."
Shopbop.com Hot ticket items: Oliver Peoples Leyla sunglasses and Lauren Merkin metallic clutches Price: $350 and $285 Who's buying them and for whom? "The clutches make great, easy gifts, and there's a lot of self-purchase too," said Kassidy Babcock, Shopbop's buyer. "People need them for their holiday parties. And our customers are getting ready for holiday trips and buying sunglasses for themselves." The appeal: "There's no sizing, so they're easy gifts to give," Babcock said.Vivre.com Hot ticket items: Carlos Souza's Madly in Love pendants and Vivre's Evita hobo bag Price: $550 to $1,150, and $975 Who's buying them and for whom? "Husbands and boyfriends are going nuts on these," said Eva Jeanbart Lorenzotti, founder and chief executive officer of the online retailer. "They make everyone smile." The appeal: "They're sweet and fun, and come in different color cords like purple, black and fuchsia," Lorenzotti said of the pendants.

This initiative is intended to set the tone for the new brand identity and philosophy and will include partnerships with influencers and in-store and off-line activations that will continue into next year. 24-year-old Jean Prounis is redefining the rules of jewelry. Formerly a studio assistant to Jemima Kirke and a design apprentice at Ghuran, she focuses on handcrafted subtleties and ancient goldsmithing techniques. “There was a really sterile feel in the environment and I wanted to have jewelry with character that shapes how you wear it everyday,” Prounis said. Each piece is hand made in New York, either by Prounis or three other jewelers in the district. #wwdfashion

“Stranger Things” is getting a new cast member for season 2. Meet @sadiesink_, the 15-year-old who will be joining the Netflix series for its new season. Amid the Harvey Weinstein controversy, there’s another sector that’s being put under the spotlight for sexual abuse: the modeling industry. While rumors about abuse and sexual harassment of female and male models — and the photographers, agents and others who perpetrated it — have circulated within the fashion world for years, model @cameronrussell started posting stories from models on Instagram last week about abusive situations they’ve encountered — from sexual harassment and molestation to attempted rape.
