IRVINE, Calif. — Seeking a higher global profile, St. John has named Jessica Dennis as senior vice president of marketing and Fabio Guidetti to be senior vice president of international.

Dennis had been vice president of marketing and public relations at Henri Bendel, a division of Limited Brands Inc., and before that served as worldwide director of advertising and marketing at Gucci. Guidetti, formerly at Liberty of London, held sales and business development positions at Donna Karan International and Pringle of Scotland.

Both will report to chief executive officer Glenn McMahon.

“Their arrival and depth of experience is key to our strategic plans to transform St. John from an iconic American brand to a global luxury powerhouse,” McMahon said.

McMahon’s tenure as ceo, which began in August 2007, has refocused the company. St. John underwent years of upheaval when Richard Cohen was appointed ceo, co-founder Marie Gray and creative director Kelly Gray left and Tim Gardner was named creative director. The product took a too-radical turn for the core customer and Cohen and Gardner departed in 2006.

During the last three years, St. John has streamlined its apparel offerings, incorporating the former Sport and SoCa lines into St. John Yellow Label, introduced a new store design, launched an e-commerce site and, earlier this year, announced plans to launch St. John Jewelry for fall 2011.
