John Varvatos Enterprises, a division of VF Corp., laid off 12 people, or 4 percent of its workforce, at the end of April. The cuts, made in stores and across all areas of corporate, were a response to the current economic climate, and do not represent any strategic shift, said Donna Faircloth, vice president of marketing and corporate communications for John Varvatos.
