"Nonchalant, easy and very luscious." That's how Alber Elbaz describes his pre-fall collection for Lanvin, inspired by women designers including house founder Jeanne Lanvin, as well as Elsa Schiaparelli, Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel, Jil Sander and Vivienne Westwood. Their common thread, Elbaz says, is a pitch-perfect mix of fantasy and reality. Here, a mink coat and silk satin dress.

Pre-fall has numerous inspirations. At Lanvin, a pool of women designers influenced Alber Elbaz's beautifully provocative lineup. As for Viktor & Rolf, Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren play with mixed elements from different worlds — couture with streetwear, eveningwear with daywear, outerwear with refined elegance. Chloé's Paulo Melim Andersson looks to the bohemian mood of Seventies Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Translation? Whimsical fur coats, embroidered dresses and plenty of cozy knits. Meanwhile, his vacation-inspired See by Chloé lineup features vibrant prints.
