In this, its centennial year, the owners of the Italian luxury brand Ermenegildo Zegna got the party started in June during fashion week in Milan by throwing an enormous event at La Triennale di Milano Design Museum. This followed the company’s runway show, where it showcased the flagship brand and Z Zegna together for the first time.
This week, the celebration continues with a series of events in the U.S. Tonight, Anna Zegna, image director of the family-owned company, will host an opening party at the new boutique at CityCenter in Las Vegas in support of the charity Keep Memory Alive. The CityCenter unit, which measures 7,500 square feet in the Crystals retail complex, is only the second U.S. store to be designed by Peter Marino. The architect also designed the company’s Fifth Avenue flagship, which opened in 2008, as well asstores in Milan, Tokyo, Dubai, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Chengdu.
Fabrics created at the company’s textile arm, Lanificio Ermenegildo Zegna, which was founded in 1910 in Trivero, Italy, are pivotal in the Vegas store design, which also includes a striped metal and glass facade and a pinstriped concrete entrance. The windows are designed to resemble fabrics with their metallic strands, and a dark wood staircase behind a glass banister highlights striped, frosted mirrors with bronze colored glass inserts.
The store offers all the company’s collections, ranging from the casual Z Zegna and Zegna Sport brands to the more formal Ermenegildo Zegna collection.
“This latest strategic investment in our retail business…is a positive signal of recovery in the American market,” said Gildo Zegna, chief executive officer. “Las Vegas is one of the fastest-growing and most dynamic cities in the U.S., internationally renowned for luxury tourism, entertainment and shopping.”
The company also operates a store at the Forum Shops at Caesar’s Palace, which opened in 2005 and was enlarged by 65 percent earlier this year.
Additional Zegna stores in the U.S. are in Aspen, Co.; Bal Harbour and Boca Raton, Fla.; Beverly Hills and Costa Mesa, Calif.; Boston; Chicago; Houston; Manhasset, N.Y., and Washington, D.C. Next Tuesday, Gildo Zegna and actor Alec Baldwin will host an event in the New York store in support of the New York Philharmonic, followed by a private dinner on Thursday at the NorthPark Neiman Marcus store in Dallas for 100 top customers, hosted by Gildo Zegna and Neiman’s president Karen Katz.

“It’s life, I’m going to face it,” @mingxi11 sighed. “I fell, but you know, I think the most important thing is that I get back up. I had the love, the help from my sister — the girl next to me Gizele [Oliveira] — she’s so nice. When I went backstage everybody was trying to comfort me like ‘Oh Ming, it’s OK.’ I’m really, really touched. I think it’s them who gave me the courage to go back on stage for the finale,” Xi told WWD of her fall at the @victoriassecret fashion show. “I just wanted to create this fully rounded character, but I do think what excited me most was just the opportunity to give a group of people representation that I feel needs it.
