NEW YORK — Seventh on Sixth confirmed the majority of its scheduling on Friday for the newly named Olympus Fashion Week taking place next month here, during which several new names will stage shows at Bryant Park venues.
Among the designer brands that will show in the tents for the first time, after previously presenting their collections in venues around the city, are such rising stars as Zac Posen, Proenza Schouler, Jeffrey Chow, Esteban Cortazar and Zero by Maria Cornejo. There are also some new collections showing in the tents, including lines called Venexiana, Sass & Bide and Milly.
Returning collections, which have skipped the tents recently for alternate spaces or various business reasons, are Nautica, Ron Chereskin, Y & Kei, Marc Bouwer, Richard Tyler Couture, Cynthia Rowley and Behnaz Sarafpour.
The overall schedule for the fall collections, set for Feb. 6-13, includes many designers retaining their traditional time slots or venues, with Kenneth Cole kicking off the week on Feb. 6 at the Tent, Diane von Furstenberg ushering in the celebrity front rows on Feb. 8 at her West Village studio and the final day being dominated by Ralph Lauren with three consecutive time slots and capped by Donna Karan at 3 p.m., in the far reaches of Chelsea.
Also new to the runways will be Texas native Lela Rose, who has scheduled a 4 p.m. show on Feb. 11 at an off-site venue, according to a spokesman for the designer.
Seventh on Sixth also reported on Friday that its roster of sponsors, apart from title sponsor Olympus, so far includes Redken, W Hotels, North Fork Bank, Johnson & Johnson Cos., Song Airlines, Silhouette Sunglasses and Blue Fish Concierge. Media sponsors are Vogue and The New York Times.
