NEW YORK — Kohl’s Department Stores has filled its vacant post of chief financial officer, tapping Wesley McDonald, who stepped down from the same role at Abercrombie & Fitch.
McDonald, who will also assume the title of executive vice president at the Menomonee Falls, Wis.-based department store chain, will oversee financial accounting and planning, tax, treasury and investor relations. He will report to chief operating officer Arlene Meier, Kohl’s said Tuesday.
Kohl’s cfo position has been open since April when Patricia Johnson left to become cfo for Gap Inc.’s Old Navy division.
McDonald served as cfo at A&F since 2000. Before that, he spent 12 years in various executive positions in finance, information systems and distribution at Target Corp.
A&F said it has initiated a search for a new cfo to succeed McDonald. In the interim, chief operating officer Seth Johnson will handle the cfo duties at the New Albany, Ohio-based specialty retailer.
