At the Reem Acra show Thursday, makeup artist Polly Osmond, working on behalf of MAC, was bent on putting a modern twist on a classic technique by applying black liner to just the corners of the eye. “It creates a different shape,” said Osmond, as she gazed into the mirror with a model to study the look. On the lids, Osmond applied Pigment, a color-rich loose powder, in Mauvement, a new shade, and a bit of silver. She finished the look with a light taupe powder called Emote and bare lips.
Using a smattering of Cutler hair care products, independent hairstylist Gavin Harwin sought to combine masculine and feminine styles by keeping hair sleek and shiny at the top and then creating organic waves at the bottom. He started by blow-drying hair using Cutler volumizing spray, then applying a curling iron and brushing out much of the curl. “It’s very elegant, and maybe more of an evening look.”
