A|X Armani Exchange Introduces Eyewear

Armani has set his sights on a new customer.

NEW YORK — Giorgio Armani has set his sights on a new customer.

The Italian designer unveiled his first collection of sunwear for his entry-level A|X Armani Exchange label Wednesday at a press preview here. The collection is made under license with the Safilo Group, which has produced eyewear for the designer Giorgio Armani and diffusion Emporio Armani lines for three years.

The collection comprises approximately 23 women’s, men’s and unisex styles that will retail from $58 to $65. Fashionable silhouettes like oversized plastic designs and metal shields and aviators are given classic interpretations with subtle logo detailing. Colors range from brushed silvers and golds to dark tortoise, black, pearl white and indigo blue.

The collection will hit A|X Armani Exchange’s 105 freestanding stores worldwide this month. Distribution to specialty retailers and select department stores is expected to follow in January.
