ATLANTA — Adidas is launching the Adidas Lacrosse Collection, which will be in major sporting goods retailers and through the team distribution channel starting this fall.

It will be co-developed by Adidas and the Henson Group, which has been a partner with Adidas since 1994, licensing Adidas wrestling footwear and singlets.

The Adidas Lacrosse collection includes apparel, footwear and equipment, including protective pads, sticks, heads, gloves and helmets.

Adidas said participation in lacrosse has tripled over the past decade, and the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association (SGMA) has predicted the game as the hottest growth sport for 2006 and beyond. It is played recreationally at the high school and club level across the country, it’s an official NCAA sport and there are two professional leagues in operation.

The product will incorporate Adidas technologies, such as Clima Cool to keep athletes cool and dry, and Formotion for muscle support.
