Alberta Ferretti got her years-long wish Thursday night of presenting a runway show in Hollywood. The designer, who says “Los Angeles is one of my favorite places,” partnered with Lisa Love to present a selection from the pre-fall and Limited Edition collections at Chateau Marmont, followed by a sit-down dinner and dance party. Models sashayed through the parlor while Kate Beckinsale (with daughter Lily and husband Len Wiseman), Selena Gomez, Olivia Munn, Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow and Alison Brie took in the show along with Jacqui, Rosetta and Balthazar Getty and Gia and Francis Ford Coppola.
There were also a few young men in the mix like Justin Bartha and Chord Overstreet, a fashion show newbie. “I don’t get to go to many of these, but it’s a wild experience. Beautiful girls and beautiful clothes. It’s great because I don’t have a girlfriend hitting me if I stare too long.” Brie, who has a premiere at Sundance in a week, was eyeballing some of the embellished furs: “I think they’d be perfect for dressing up the jeans and T-shirts. I’m getting on that!” During dinner in the tented garden, Ferretti toasted Love’s birthday and said, “It’s a perfect night.” As the music volume went up, tables and chairs were quickly moved aside so that everyone from Ferretti, Juan Carlos Obando and Gregory Parkinson to the young starlets could get their groove on.
“Nobody ever dances at events in L.A. It must be an Italian thing,” mused Katherine Ross, before getting down with Jacqui Getty.

For @massimogiorgetti of @msgm, the Nineties are his favorite decade. “They had a huge impact on my personal growth. What I like of the Nineties is that they are not so precise in terms of style as other decades…there was actually a bit of everything,” he said. As seen on MSGM’s Spring 2018 show: tie-dye and a bit of grunge, two styles that are synonymous with the decade #wwdfashion #wwddecades (📷: @kukukuba)

He went on to reinvent and ignite the house of Yves Saint Laurent, which he rechristened Saint Laurent, between 2012 and 2016 – all the while maintaining a close relationship with the Arnault family, which controls LVMH and Dior. “Personally I believe the Eighties have been the richest and more vivacious period for international fashion,” Giorgio Armani said when asked what his favorite decade of fashion is. It was a moment of disruption and experimentation and only thinking back to the first years of that decade is always an emotion for me, for what they have meant to me and my work.” The influence is clear in @giorgioarmani spring 2018 collection, pictured here, which was full of bright colors and unexpected prints.
