NEW YORK — Annette Green has been named president emeritus of the Fragrance Foundation, in a unanimous decision by the board of directors. Green said that she is "very pleased. After a lifetime of devotion this allows me to continue to have that special feeling and reinforces my continuing role with the fragrance industry."
Green has been at the helm of the Fragrance Foundation for the past 41 years and will step down from her role as president on Jan. 1, 2003. She will continue her involvement as a consultant to The Fragrance Foundation for the next two years. She will also serve as president of the board of trustees for the Annette Green Museum, and chairman, chief executive officer of the Sense of Smell Institute.
As for her involvement with the FiFi’s, Green said it is something that she is focusing on and that she "will be totally involved" and will "work side by side" with Rochelle Bloom, former president of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics and a 26-year veteran of The Estée Lauder Cos., who was appointed president of the Fragrance Foundation last week. Green said she "is continuing on in a big way" and will also devote a large portion of her time to securing and moving the Annette Green Museum to a street-level location.
