DALLAS--Neiman Marcus has promoted Jim Gold to vice president and director of outlet stores, a new position, and Mary Smith to vice president and divisional merchandise manager for intimate apparel, hosiery and bridal. Smith succeeds Stacy Staiger, who was previously promoted to vice president and divisional merchandise manager of designer II, which includes bridge collections like Emanuel and Anne Klein II as well as large sizes and petites. Smith had been a buyer for designer II since 1994. She joined Neiman's in 1989 as a career sportswear buyer and subsequently became NM Direct's buyer of leisure sportswear and men's. Smith reports to Robert Ackerman, senior vice president and general merchandise manager. Gold had been merchandise manager of Neiman's downtown Dallas store since 1996. He joined Neiman's in 1991 as a department manager in the NorthPark store in Dallas and eventually was named the buyer of contemporary men's sportswear. Gold reports to Steve Harding, senior vice president and chief financial officer.
