Lots of stars turned out for the Hollywood premiere of "The Lost World: Jurassic Park"-- including Jeff Goldblum, Julianne Moore, Patricia Arquette, Christian Slater and Jennifer Tilly--but the movie's biggest star, director Steven Spielberg, was not in attendance.
"Mr. Spielberg never shows up for movie premieres," said a spokesman for Universal Pictures. "The only premiere he's ever attended in our remembrance was 'Schindler's List."'
Still, the dinos managed to make a killing with the ready-for-action summer movie crowd.
"It's hair-raising and chilling," said Goldblum, who co-starred with Spielberg's effects in both "Jurassic Park" films. He hadn't seen the movie with the special effects intact until the premiere.
"I was actually jumping out of my chair," he said.
Co-star Vince Vaughn, still best known for his acting breakthrough in "Swingers," thinks this pic is the money.
"It's a little bigger than 'Swingers,' and I bet there's better food inside," he said.
Still, Spielberg is not a giant to everybody. Rap singer/actor Ice Cubecouldn't remember the director's name.
"This one should be bigger and better from...what's the dude's name?" he asked.
