It was open season at the Loeb boathouse in New York's Central Park last Thursday night. It's the one time each summer when hundreds of Upper East Side eligibles gather for a night of drinking, dancing and debauchery--not to mention some major flirting.
The men, many of them Armani-wearing and cigar-chewing, cruised the dance floor enthusiastically, while the women, wearing everything from Leger to Levi's and Gucci to Gap, expertly batted a little eyelash and tossed a little hair.
There were, however, good intentions. The party was a benefit for The Parks Council, an organization set up to protect New York City's parks.
