MILAN--Simint SpA, the jeans and sportswear maker controlled by Giorgio Armani SpA, has appointed Maurizio Cacciatore as general director.
Cacciatore, 38, is currently central director for management control at Marzotto SpA. He will join Simint in September, the company said.
Simint chairman Giorgio Gabbiani, who has been dividing his time between Simint and Armani, where he is financial director, said Cacciatore will be key to restoring autonomy to Simint after the rescue operation conducted by Armani.
"Our objective all along has been to give Simint its own identity," said Gabbiani. "He [Cacciatore] will be the operative person who will manage the company."
Cacciatore has been with Marzotto since 1992. Previously he worked for Italian publishing company Mondadori and for Price Waterhouse in Milan.
