HACHETTE, NEW WORLD SAID SET TO BUY PREMIER

NEW YORK--Hachette Filipacchi and New World Communications, an entertainment conglomerate owned by Ronald O. Perelman, are reportedly teaming up to buy Premier Magazine.
According to sources, a deal is imminent.
Premier, which is owned by K-III, was put on the selling block several months ago.
According to sources, Hachette would run the magazine and New World would develop TV programming using the Premier trademark.
Spokesmen for Hachette, K-III and McAndrew & Forbes, New World's holding company, declined comment.
Perelman also owns Revlon.
In recent months, Hachette has been on a buying spree, acquiring Family Life and Mirabella, and has agreed to publish two test issues of George, a magazine being developed by John F. Kennedy Jr.
