NEW YORK RESORT
FLEX TIME
RESORT IS ALL ABOUT VERSATILITY, WITH CLOTHES RANGING FROM BARE LITTLE BEACH PIECES TO CITIFIED SUITS.

JOSEPH ABBOUD: "Our resort clothes can be worn as you buy them; you don't have to take them away. I tend to be anti-trend. One of our signatures is mixing textures and fabrics in shapes I consider organic rather than architectural. Our clothes are not restrictive."

ANNE KLEIN: "Resort is an amazing season to get together. In a capsule, in one delivery, you have to design for spring, summer, fall and winter, everything from suits to swimsuits to eveningwear. The mood of this season is spare, and I think I do well with that kind of a look. I don't look at these clothes as minimal, I look at them as timeless. I say what I have to say and no more."--Patrick Robinson

BILL BLASS USA: "I wanted this to look totally different than the launch collection. Yet I'm working with classics--navy and white suits, lightweight woolens all year round, a smart cotton pea jacket. Parts of it are very Palm Beach--the 'frosted' pastels, for example. It's all very fresh and young, but there's nothing revolutionary about any of it, nor should there be. They're just good-looking clothes to wear."--Bill Blass
