NEW YORK--Bloomingdale's will open seven Nicole Miller in-store shops by the end of September.
This will bring the number of Miller boutiques in the chain to eight, including the two-year-old shop at the flagship here.
The new boutiques are set to open in Bloomingdale's units at The Falls in Miami; The Towne Center Mall in Boca Raton, Fla.; North Michigan Avenue in Chicago; Schlumberg Mall in Skokie, Ill.; Roosevelt Field Mall, Garden City, N.Y.; Riverside Square Mall in Hackensack, N.J., and The Mall at Short Hills, in Short Hills, N.J.
The 450-square-foot shop in the flagship generates $3,000 per square foot, according to Bud Konheim, president of Nicole Miller. The new boutiques will be about the same size, although they are not expected to deliver such vigorous sales.
"I'd be happy if they did $1,000 a square foot," he said.
Konheim said the in-store shops will carry the company's dress and bridesmaid collections, as well as small leather goods and women's silk print accessories.
