The action in Paris this week wasn't confined to the runways. On Sunday, Georgina Brandolini hosted a dinner for 50 in her apartment in honor of Valentino. The next night, Gianfranco Ferre and Christian Dior hosted the house's traditional after-show party at Ledoyen where models, editors and even the company's men's wear designer, Patrick Lavoix, all showed up. And on Tuesday, the fashion pack headed to the Ritz for the Guy Laroche dinner hosted by Michel Klein. A few nights earlier, Versace threw a birthday dinner for Italian Vogue editor Franca Sozzani. Guests streaming in to the party after the designer's show included Rupert Everett, Roman Polanski and Emmanuelle Seigneur, Azzedine Alaia, Rossy de Palma and all of the top models from Versace's runway. During cocktails, Claudia Schiffer got comfortable by pattering around barefoot, carrying her high heeled-pumps. Karen Mulder got plenty of attention in her Versace gown, with Polanski and others stepping back to get a full view of just how high the slit in the skirt really was. And Kristen McMenamy, who's been the star of the season and the bride in Versace's show, got a prime seat at the dinner--right next to the designer.
