NEW YORK--The Warnaco Group said it has terminated license agreements with Chateau Lingerie Mfg., Montreal, Canada, to produce men's underwear and women's intimate apparel under the Calvin Klein name in Canada. Warnaco of Canada Ltd., a Warnaco subsidiary, will assume control of design, production and marketing of these lines in Canada, although Chateau, under a new production agreement with Warnaco, will manufacture the lines for the subsidiary. Chateau held the licenses for about five years, according to a Warnaco executive. Warnaco acquired the Calvin Klein men's underwear business in March 1994 and took control of the women's innerwear at the start of this year. Linda J. Wachner, president, chairman and chief executive officer of Warnaco, said the arrangement enhances "Warnaco's ability to assure the worldwide position" of the underwear lines.
