CAMPBELL MITHUN ESTY NAMED NEW AD AGENCY FOR KMART
NEW YORK--After a five-month search, Kmart Corp. on Monday named Campbell Mithun Esty as its new advertising agency. The discounter said the Minneapolis-based CME will develop an "umbrella theme and advertising programs that help to build store traffic and support store-wide promotions." CME clients include Borden, ConAgra and General Mills. A new campaign is expected to begin in the fall and include both print and electronic media, Kmart said in a statement. Kmart's ad billings are estimated at $125 million to $175 million. Ross Roy Communications, Kmart's former agency, declined to participate in an account review that began last November. BBDO/New York and Ally & Gargano Inc. participated in the final review.
