LEVI'S NAMES WESTFALL TO HEAD NEW MEN'S DRESS PANTS UNIT

SAN FRANCISCO--Jann Westfall, a veteran executive of Levi Strauss & Co. has been named president of a new venture for the firm--men's dress pants.
The new brand of slacks, which as yet has not been named, is scheduled to be launched within the next year.
Westfall, started with the company as a summer intern in 1972 and took a full-time job in 1973. She was most recently on special assignment to assess new business opportunities for Levi Strauss North America operations.
Earlier, Westfall was general manager of Levi Strauss United Kingdom until mid-1994.
In her new post, Westfall will also become one of themembers of Levi Strauss' North American management committee. Westfall, 45, reports to Bob Rockey, president of Levi Strauss North America.
