SUSPECTED OLDHAM STALKER FACES TRESPASSING, HARASSMENT CHARGES

Byline:

NEW YORK — Shane Kennedy, the 28-year-old Manhattan man suspected of stalking designer Todd Oldham, was scheduled to be arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court late Thursday after his arrest the previous night on trespassing and harassment charges.
The Manhattan District Attorney’s office said Kennedy faces second-degree aggravated harassment and first- and second-degree harassment charges when presented before a criminal court judge.
A spokesman for the prosecutor said he would seek bail in the case. At press time, a decision on the amount of bail was not yet set.
Kennedy was arrested Wednesday evening in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood, a few blocks from Oldham’s Wooster Street boutique. Police said an officer recognized Kennedy from an earlier occasion when the officer issued him a summons for trespassing and disorderly conduct at the Oldham boutique.
The designer has obtained a temporary protective order against Kennedy keeping him from coming with 300 feet of Oldham. A hearing for a permanent protective order is scheduled for April 5.
Oldham has charged Kennedy, a man with a long criminal record, with sending him bizarre letters and objects, including locks of hair, leaves, condoms and letters of recommendation.
