NEW YORK — Services for Julius Bienenfeld, 90, a founder of Bestform Foundations Inc., an innerwear manufacturer, were held Thursday in Hewlett, N.Y. He died Wednesday in Long Beach Nursing Home, Long Beach, N.Y.
The cause of death was heart failure, according to his nephew, Marvin Bienenfeld, president and chief executive officer of Bestform. Julius Bienenfeld remained active in the business until his death. He and his late brother, Morris Bienenfeld, started the company here nearly 70 years ago.
Bienenfeld is survived by his wife, Tessie; a son, Stanley Bienenfeld, who is executive vice president in charge of production at Bestform; two daughters, Audrey Wagner and Marilyn Roth; two brothers, David and Nathan, who are in production and sales, respectively, at the firm; 11 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. A son-in-law, Max Wagner, is Bestform’s vice president in charge of purchasing.
