NAR TO INCREASE PRICES 10 TO 15%

ELIZABETHTON, Tenn.--North American Rayon Corp. said Monday it is increasing the price of its rayon fiber by 10 to 15 percent, effective May 1.
The increase will cover all products. NAR produces fiber for the apparel, industrial and aerospace industry. "In spite of recent cost reductions and efficiency improvements, we are still faced with raw materials cost increases we simply cannot absorb," said Dan Swaim, NAR's vice president of sales and marketing.
The action by NAR follows a series of price increases on rayon fibers announced earlier this year by Courtaulds Fibers and Lenzing Fibers Corp.
