NORMAN JOINS ROYCE: Dean G. Norman has joined Royce Hosiery Mills Inc., a New York-based men’s and women’s hosiery manufacturer, as senior vice president of sales and marketing, a new position. He said he will be responsible for managing sales and marketing for Royce’s private label as well as its licensed brands, Dockers Socks and Christian Dior for men. Norman said he will pursue opportunities for new licenses and private label for women’s goods.
Last month, Norman resigned as senior vice president at American Essentials Inc., a New York-based brand and private label sock manufacturer and a subsidiary of McGregor Industries, Toronto. No successor will be named, according to Jordan Lipson, president and chief executive officer of American Essentials, which is the licensee for Calvin Klein socks. Lipson said he will take on some of Norman’s former responsibilities, as will Mark Slade, vice president of sales, and Rebecca Childs, manager of the private label division. Lipson, who now divides his time between Toronto and New York, said he will reside permanently in New York next year.

STANFIELD ADDS TITLES: As part of a plan to consolidate manufacturing operations at Shogren Hosiery Manufacturing, based in Greensboro, N.C., Jack Stanfield, president and chief executive officer, has assumed the same tiles at three of its manufacturing units. They are Willwear Hosiery Mills, Chattanooga, Tenn., Willwear Hosiery Manufacturing Co. Inc., Marion, N.C., and Kentucky Lakes Hosiery Mills Inc., Princeton, Ky. Stanfield will also assume the new post of vice chairman and ceo of another Shogren unit, Runnymede Mills, Tarboro, N.C. A former chairman of the National Association of Hosiery Manufacturers, Stanfield joined Shogren Hosiery Manufacturing last year. Tony Shogren continues as chairman.
