REBEL FASHION

A "Bad Wine Tasting" kicked off 800 East's fourth-annual fashion show, appropriately called "Supra Natural." The hip, downtown, multidisciplinary arts center brought the cool, the avant-garde and the strange together for an eclectic night of drinking "mad dog," viewing fashion and listening to bands.
At first, it all seemed a little weird. One host was wearing a newspaper skirt and a white pompon on her head but, as the invitation stated, "natural style from within" was what the night was all about.
Young local designers who showed their wares included Linda Bayne (Clothing Construction Co.), Clifford Hooks (Mohawk Leather) and Wyatt (Grace). The crowd got rowdiest during designer Daniel King's show when a drag queen modeling a white gown lipsynced to the 4 Non Blonde's song "What's Going On." King just smiled and said the whole night was about "good karma, positive attitudes and style."
