Funk, fashion and fitness were the themes at the kick-off party for the new regional magazine, Vie. Hosted by Eurotard, the Roswell, Ga.-based fitness apparel company, the party was held at Sportslife, an Atlanta-based health club. Vie is a health and fitness magazine distributed by Hearst. The tropical-themed event featured a dance/fashion show, a bongo troupe and Vie's debut cover, model Jill Goodacre. While many speculated that husband Harry Connick Jr. would be on her arm, Goodacre came alone and was quickly surrounded by fans. Goodacre stayed until the end, as did Tolbert Yilmaz, owner of Eurotard, and Gary Carlton, ceo of Vie. Carlton said the magazine will team up with health clubs in different cities to offer stories targeted to specific regions. So far, it has tapped Atlanta's Sportslife and Tampa's Lifestyle Fitness and has picked up 70,000 subscribers.
