NEW YORK--Parlux Fragrances Inc. has completed its acquisition of the Perry Ellis fragrance brands.
Terms of the transaction, which involved securing the manufacturing and distribution rights from Sanofi Beauté Inc., were not disclosed. As reported, the two companies signed a preliminary agreement in November.
Parlux, based in Pompano Beach, Fla., said its own marketing and distribution activities for the Ellis products will begin immediately. The brands include Perry Ellis for Men and 360í Perry Ellis for women, with 360í for Men due to arrive later this year.
The acquisition is the second for Parlux this year, following the June purchase of the Fred Hayman Beverly Hills fragrance business. Parlux also markets scents by Vicky Tiel and Francesco Smalto and will launch Todd Oldham's first fragrance in April.
"We believe there is tremendous opportunity for Parlux to continue to acquire other successful prestige fragrances," said Ilia Lekach, Parlux's chairman and chief executive officer, in a statement.
For the second quarter ended Sept. 30, net income at Parlux grew to $739,929, or 17 cents per share, compared with $171,096, or 6 cents, in the same period a year ago.
