DUPONT HIKING DACRON POLYESTER FIBER PRICES

NEW YORK--Citing an improving polyester market, DuPont said Friday it is increasing prices on its Dacron polyester staple and filament effective with shipments of Aug. 27.
The increase in staple, DuPont's second this year, will be 9 to 13 percent. The previous Dacron staple increases, 5 to 7 percent, were implemented on May 2.
Dacron filament prices will rise 5 to 8 percent. The last filament increases, 4 to 6 percent, were put in effect on May 30, 1992.
Dacron staple and filament are used in a wide range of apparel, home furnishings and industrial applications.
