DODGEVILLE, Wis.--Lands' End Inc. has acquired the marketing rights of Montbell America Inc., which designs, develops and distributes specialized technical outerwear and equipment for men and women. Montbell America will operate as an independent subsidiary of Lands' End and has signed a licensing agreement with the Japan-based Montbell Co. Ltd., giving it exclusive rights to the Montbell trademark in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Europe. Montbell products are currently distributed through outdoor specialty stores, mainly in the U.S. A catalog will also be launched this fall, according to a Lands' End statement. Ken Ketch will continue as president of Montbell America, which had sales of approximately $2.3 million in 1993.
