CHANEL WILL OPEN BOUTIQUE IN BAL HARBOUR IN NOVEMBER

NEW YORK--Chanel is planning to open a 5,500-square-foot unit in the Bal Harbour Shops complex in Florida in early November. The store is divided into a 4,500-square-foot boutique for fashion and a 1,000-square-foot fine jewelry shop called Joaillerie Boutique. Chanel's only other jewelry boutique is in Beverly Hills.
A Chanel store in Aspen, Colo., originally scheduled to open in June, will open in late November because an extra 300 square feet became available next to the 1,300-square-foot shop in the Ajax Mountain Building, the company said. The additional space will be a fine jewelry boutique. Chanel executives declined to give volume projections.
Barbara Cirkva, senior vice president of the retail and wholesale fashion division, said the company differentiated the boutiques in Bal Harbour by creating a white marble facade for the fashion boutique and a black granite facade for the jewelry shop.
Fine jewelry retails from $1,500 for rings to $500,000 for diamond necklaces. Costume jewelry ranges from $200 for earrings to $4,000 for necklaces.
Ready-to-wear is priced from $1,500 to $3,000 for jackets and $3,000 to $5,000 for suits.
