A moderate case of designer gridlock hit Manhattan on Sunday. While a lot of the fashion pack attended the Kids for Kids pediatric AIDS benefit, Victor Alfaro, Byron Lars, Bradley Bayou, Cynthia Rowley, Kathryn Dianos and Yeohlee all turned out for the Partnership for the Homeless benefit performance of "Show Boat," with a party afterward at the New York Hilton, hosted by Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward.
Robert Altman sure wants the fashion community to take "Pret-a-Porter" seriously. In the last several months, the director has dropped into more than a handful of the fashion industry's hottest parties, and on Saturday, while looking on from the wings, he had fashion photog Patrick Demarchelier shoot the film's print ad campaign. Altman spared no expense--Helena Christensen and Tatjana Patitz were hired to pose with two of the film's model-actors in Demarchelier's New York studio.
