NEW YORK--J. Crew Inc. has named Mallory Andrews vice president of public relations and special events. The position is a new one involving setting new strategies for the company, as well as responsibilities formerly held by Jayne Chase, who was director of publicity. Andrews will report to Emily Woods, vice chairman. Up until last month, Andrews was vice president of public relations and special events at Barneys New York, where she worked for 11 years. Prior to that, she was director of publicity at Bergdorf Goodman.
