NEW YORK--Services for Robert Stein, 77, a retired textile executive, were held Wednesday in Albany, N.Y. He died Sept. 26 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, following a brief illness. A graduate of Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science, Stein served most of his career in the textile business as executive vice president of the former Star Textile, Albany,a supplier of polyester, rayon and cotton fabrics. Stein retired from that post in 1975. Robert Stein's brother, Sidney Stein Jr., is chairman of Stein Fibers, also in Albany, an importer of polyester, rayon and cotton fibers. In addition to his brother, Stein is survived by his wife, Nona; a son, Robert Jr.; a daughter, Susan Backer; a sister, Katherine Fenster, and six grandchildren.
