Forget the beach pass--here's what you need:Move over Rollerbladers--Snakeboarders are looking for a little room on the boardwalks. Distributed by Snake Board USA Inc. in Palm Desert, Calif., the snakeboard, two foot plates connected with a crossbar, looks like a skateboard but performs like a snow board. By pointing toes inward then outward and simultaneously twisting the torso, riders cruise at 20 m.p.h. without ever putting their feet on the ground. The boards retail from $59 to $150 and are available at Paragon Sports, Sports Authority and Toys "R" Us. Arena North America has developed sunglass goggles for swimmers, water skiers and other water sport enthusiasts. Arena's amphibian antifog goggles have shatterproof lenses to protect against ultraviolet rays. The $50 smoke-colored goggles are available with black, blue or purple lenses. Orders may be placed by calling Arena at 800-925-4286.For nonswimmers, Mossimo Optic, the Los Angeles-based sunglass manufacturer, offers a sharper image. The Italian-made eyewear retails for around $150.Made from recycled rubber, Class 5 Sandals offer rugged styles for water sport enthusiasts and landlubbers alike. The waterproof sandals retail from $35 to $70 and are available at Herman's Sporting Goods, as well as other sporting stores nationwide.
