BLOOMINGDALE'S, BEVERLY HILLS MGR. TALK ABOUT A STORE

LOS ANGELES--Bloomingdale's first West Coast store appears close to reality.
Michael Gould, Bloomingdale's chief executive officer, gave the Beverly Hills Planning Commission plans last Thursday for a four-story, 240,000-square-foot store, and met with Mark Scott, city manager, Beverly Hills.
"Bloomingdale's has not formerly filed for the project," but that's expected soon, he said. He noted Bloomingdale's has secured 1.5 acres of the 2.5-acre site, between Beverly and Canon Drives, and Dayton Way and Wilshire Boulevard. The city expects to sell the remaining parcel to the store. The plan was revealed in last Friday's edition of The Beverly Hills Courier. It said the store should open in August 1997. Gould was at the Paris collections and couldn't be reached at press time.
