NEW YORK--Saks Fifth Avenue will celebrate SA's fashion week with a bigger version of last season's video tribute to American designers. The corner window of the flagship at 49th Street & Fifth Avenue will be transformed into a video runway, showing clips of the spring collections that premiered earlier on the runways of 7th on Sixth--the fashion shows in Bryant Park and the New York Public Library, and elsewhere around town. The video window will run from Oct. 27 through Nov. 9. While the store did a video window for the shows in April, this season it will cover more designers. Additionally, spring-summer 1995 merchandise featuring pastels or white from the designers will be previewed in the Fifth Avenue windows. Among the collections participating are Victor Alfaro, Bill Blass, Oscar de la Renta, Pamela Dennis, Carolina Herrera, Marc Jacobs, Gemma Kahn, Norma Kamali, Donna Karan, Anne Klein, Calvin Klein, Byron Lars, Ralph Lauren, Mary McFadden, Isaac Mizrahi, Nicole Miller, Todd Oldham, Badgely Mischka, Arnold Scaasi, Anna Sui, Isabel Toledo, Vivian Tam, Ellen Tracy, Richard Tyler, Joan Vass, Adrienne Vittadini and Vera Wang. Saks is also having a tie-in with Prescriptives, the beauty company that is the one of the corporate sponsors for 7th on Sixth. Mannequins will be shown in three windows, illustrating critical behind-the-scenes moments preparing hair and makeup for the fashion shows.
