The Paris ready-to-wear season is over, but memories of the fashion parties continue to linger.
On Sunday, Valentino's Georgina Brandolini was the guest of honor at a L'Arc party given by Homero Machry. So many designers, models, socials and other friends crowded into the party that Brandolini urged them to find a seat immediately. "If you don't now, you won't have a place to have dinner," she said. Needless to say, a table was reserved for Valentino, who entertained the likes of Susan Gutfreund, Rosaria of Bulgaria and Arielle Dombasle. Latecomers included Ernst of Hanover and Philippe and Victoria Niarchos, who all slipped in discreetly. Oscar de la Renta, on the other hand, strode in boldly and inquired, "Is Valentino still here?"
He was--telling guests all about his continued love of London.
"I find it so cozy there," he said.
Val swept out just as a troupe of Brazilian dancers was finishing its act, and right before actress Domiziana Giordano put down her Cuban cigar and began her rap solo.
Two nights earlier, Paloma Picasso and her husband, Rafael Lopez-Cambil, hosted a dinner at Le Doyen to celebrate the Antonio Lopez exhibition at the Musée de la Mode. The fashion crowd that turned out included Azzedine Alaia, and models Isabella Rossellini and Farida Khelfa.
