Ashley Judd is the latest celebrity to jump into the fashion game. And, like Sarah Jessica Parker, she's doing it at a low price.

Judd has signed a deal with Goody's Family Clothing Inc., the moderate-priced retailer based in Knoxville, Tenn., to introduce a fashion line this fall.

Goody's will launch three exclusive labels, namely AJ; Love, Ashley, and Ashley Judd. The collections will range from organic and knit T-shirts and sweaters to blazers, blouses, cardigans and pants. It will also include an extensive denim offering featuring Judd's signature stitching on the back pockets and floral details on the inside waistband.

The 39-year-old actress played an integral role in the creation of the line, including leading shopping trips with designers, brainstorming ideas and editing the collection. Judd will also become involved in Goody's charitable efforts, in particular Goody's Good Deeds for Schools, which includes programs that support teachers and schools across Goody's markets. Goody's operates more than 380 stores in 21 states in the U.S.

"We are excited about Ashley's new designs and the relationship we are establishing with her," said Mary Kwan, president and chief merchandising officer of Goody's Family Clothing, in a statement. "Ashley can relate to our customers and their fashion needs through her Southern roots and simple elegant style."

Judd, an eighth-generation Eastern Kentuckian, has appeared in such films as "Come Early Morning," "Bug," "De-Lovely," "Kiss the Girls" and "Double Jeopardy."

Parker has launched a collection, Bitten, with the 200-unit, low-priced retailer Steve & Barry's.
