LONDON — Asprey group chief executive officer Gianluca Brozzetti has stepped down, a company spokesman said, without elaborating.

Industry sources said that Brozzetti and Asprey owners Sciens Capital Management LLC, a New York-based private equity firm, and Plainfield Asset Management LLC, a Greenwich, Connecticut, hedge fund, had an “amicable” parting.

Brozzetti, who has been Asprey chief since 2001, saw the company through rough waters under the ownership of Lawrence Stroll and Silas Chou. He is also a shareholder in Asprey.

Last year, Brozzetti helped rescue Asprey and its former sister company Garrard from bankruptcy, selling the brands to the new owners in a debt-for-equity swap, with the value of the businesses effectively nil.
Brozzetti could not immediately be reached for comment.
