NEW YORK -- Gilda Marx Inc. has licensed Augusta Sportswear to produce a line of women's active sportswear under the Gilda Marx name.
First-year sales are projected at $5 million, said Vickie Crafton, president of the Gilda Marx division at Augusta, a maker and distributor of private label activewear for women and men in Augusta, Ga.
The licensed line will include coordinates that can be merchandised with the Gilda Marx line of bodywear. Styles will include vests, anorak jackets, pants, shorts, tops and track suits.
Cotton fabrics will include jersey, interlock knit and novelty knits with textured treatments as well as French terry and fleece. There also will be blends of jacquard nylon and Lycra spandex and Supplex nylon and Lycra.
Wholesale prices range from $7 for T-shirts to $30 for jackets.
Distribution is aimed at major specialty stores, department stores, specialty bodywear boutiques, and sporting goods outlets.
The active sportswear will be shown at Gilda Marx bodywear showrooms.
