PARIS — It’s not exactly a secret that Azzedine Alaïa goes his own way. And that particular way was most welcome when Alaïa brought the couture season to a close with a fabulous, luxurious ready-to-wear collection. Its main motif was a sophisticated study in black and white, with stylish, great-looking day clothes, including jackets and coats with arresting back detailing and fringed minis. For evening, there were white dresses with tiny cutouts and black gowns with zippers or chain links. Here, his shapely jacket, fringed in back, over leggings. For more on Paris, see pages 4 and 5.
