SAN FRANCISCO -- Barry Bates has been named vice president of sales at Esprit Apparel, a division of Esprit de Corp. It is a new post for the company.
Bates had been president of Sam & Libby Apparel since September 1990. He worked there with Andy Cohen, who is currently president of Esprit Apparel, there. A spokesman for the firm said that no successor for Bates has been named.
Bates, who reports to Cohen, will be based in the New York showroom, with his responsibilities to include sales for the firm's junior and children's wear lines.
