NEW YORK — Chanel has appointed Alisa Highly director of new product development for color. The company also promoted seven members of its field sales force. Highly, who most recently worked for L’Oréal’s Matrix brand, will direct the development of color and makeup products in her new post at Chanel and will also explore new product areas. Regarding the seven field promotions, Bob Taylor, senior vice president and national sales manager, remarked: “This reorganization will allow us to consolidate accounts such as Dillard and Nordstrom under one field executive.” Promoted were Tom Tucker, Linda Hoselton, Alfred Stillman, Nancy Costello, Colleen Clooney, Joanne Gabriel and Tim Bobo.

In other Chanel news, the brand has teamed with Teen Vogue to host an event series highlighting the Chance fragrance. Attendees of the events, which have hit Burdines in Miami and Foleys North Park in Dallas and wrap up on Aug. 22 at Macy’s South Coast Plaza, have the opportunity to meet Anne Vyalitsyna, the face of Chance. Vyalitsyna is also giving tips on how to create summer makeup looks from Chanel. In addition to mini-makeovers, guests also receive palm readings and Teen Vogue gift bags.
